CNC Lathe Machine Operator
Job Description
Operate CNC lathe machines to manufacture high-precision parts according to technical specifications and customer requirements.

Machine setup and operation: Set up and operate CNC lathes, including selecting and installing tools, attachments, and accessories.

Technical interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations, dimensions, and tolerances.

Monitor production: Observe machine operations to ensure parts meet specifications and production runs efficiently.

Adjustments and optimization: Make real-time machine setting adjustments to maintain quality, minimize scrap, and improve cycle times.

Precision inspection: Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts and verify conformance.

Routine maintenance: Perform basic maintenance and cleaning to ensure machines are in optimal working condition.

Safety compliance: Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations during operation and maintenance activities.

Collaboration: Communicate with supervisors, programmers, and team members to resolve issues and meet production goals.

Job Requirements

Experience: Previous hands-on experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.

Technical proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and understand machining specifications.

Measurement accuracy: Skilled in using precision tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicators.

Software knowledge: Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks is preferred.

Understanding of GD&T: Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards.

Attention to detail: High level of accuracy in executing detailed machining operations.

Problem-solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.

Material handling: Comfortable loading/unloading raw materials and finished parts.
Additional Information
Expected Hours: 40 – 50 per week
Pay Rate: Based on trial (Informed on interview)
Pay Range: $16.50 – $85.00 per hour
