***A landscaping irrigation technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the watering systems that keep landscapes, lawns, and gardens healthy and water-efficient. They work with a variety of components, including sprinklers, drip lines, pumps, valves, and smart controllers, across residential and commercial properties.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
***Installation: Install new irrigation systems according to blueprints
***Maintenance & Repair:
***Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues
***System Programming & Water Management: Program and adjust automatic watering

***Client Communication: Interact with clients and property managers
***General Landscaping Support: Assist with other landscaping duties like mowing, trimming, and general grounds maintenance as needed, especially in cross-functional roles.
Skills and Qualifications
***Experience: 1-3 years of related experience in irrigation system installation, troubleshooting, and repair is often required.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of irrigation principles, hydraulics, basic electrical principles, and components (pumps, valves, pipes, controllers).
***Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to diagnose complex system issues.
***Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is typically required. Industry certifications, such as the Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) or a Backflow Prevention Assembly Testers (BPAT) certificate, are often preferred or required depending on local regulations.
