Job Description
As a Porter you will be responsible for performing a wide range of cleaning, maintenance and customer service tasks to ensure a facility is clean, safe, and functional. Duties include cleaning common areas like lobbies and restrooms, taking out trash, stocking supplies, assisting guests with luggage or items, and addressing basic maintenance issues. Porters often require a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and good customer service skills to perform their duties effectively in various environments, such as hotels, hospitals, or business buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Cleaning:
- Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and cleaning floors.
- Cleaning and stocking restrooms with necessary supplies.
- Disposing of trash and maintaining overall cleanliness and orderliness of the facility.
- Assisting with minor repairs or reporting maintenance needs to management.
Customer Service:
- Greeting guests and providing directions or information.
- Responding to guest inquiries and requests in a professional manner.
Facility Support:
- Stocking and maintaining supplies for common areas and guest rooms.
- Assisting with loading and unloading supplies or equipment.
- Monitoring and reporting safety concerns or security issues.
- Helping with the setup and breakdown of events or meetings.
Job Requirements
- Prior experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial services preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in hotel or facility maintenance required.
- Working knowledge of basic repair techniques (electrical, plumbing, carpentry)
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude.
