Medical Billing Specialist

Job Description

  • Process and submit medical claims for IEHP, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and other insurance plans
  • Verify patient eligibility and benefits for government and managed care programs
  • Ensure accurate billing and compliance with coding guidelines
  • Follow up on denied or unpaid claims and submit corrections or appeals as needed
  • Post insurance and patient payments accurately
  • Communicate with insurance representatives to resolve claim issues
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Assist patients with billing questions related to government insurance programs

Job Requirements

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
  • 1–2 years of experience in medical billing
  • Experience working with IEHP, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and other insurance plans
  • Knowledge of medical billing procedures and claim submission
  • Ability to follow up on denied or unpaid claims
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliant)
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes

Additional Information

Pay rate: $24/Hour +

Pay range: $24-$85 (We are required by law to list highest paid employee)
