Drywall Installer
Job Description
Install drywall panels in residential and commercial buildings according to specifications, ensuring structural integrity and a smooth finish.
Surface preparation:
Measure and mark cutting lines, prepare wall and ceiling surfaces by cleaning, aligning, and securing framing or substrates.
Material handling:
Load, transport, and unload drywall materials, tools, and supplies to and from job sites safely and efficiently.
Panel installation:
Secure drywall panels to interior walls and ceilings using screws, nails, or adhesives, ensuring panels are level and aligned.
Taping and mudding:
Apply joint tape and compound to cover seams, corners, and screw heads, creating a seamless finish ready for painting or texture.
Sanding and finishing:
Smooth surfaces using hand or power sanders; apply additional compound coats as needed for optimal finish quality.
Blueprint reading:
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or verbal instructions to determine layout and installation procedures.
Repair and patchwork:
Perform drywall repairs including hole patching, retexturing, and water damage remediation.
Tool maintenance:
Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure reliability and safe operation on job sites.
Safety compliance:
Follow OSHA and company safety policies including use of PPE, ladder safety, and material handling procedures.
Team collaboration:
Work closely with general contractors, painters, electricians, and other trades to coordinate schedules and job site needs.

Job Requirements
Experience:
Previous hands-on experience installing drywall in residential or commercial construction settings.
Technical proficiency:
Ability to measure, cut, and install drywall panels with precision.
Finishing skills:
Proficient in taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing drywall to a paint-ready state.
Tool knowledge:
Familiarity with hand and power tools such as T-squares, utility knives, screw guns, and drywall sanders.
Blueprint reading:
Capable of reading and understanding construction drawings and layout instructions.
Attention to detail:
Strong focus on quality, accuracy, and smooth finishing work.
Physical stamina:
Able to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, and work in various physical positions for extended periods.
Problem-solving:
Skilled in identifying and correcting installation issues or surface irregularities.

Expected Hours: 40 per week
Pay Rate: ($20/hr)
Pay Range: $16.50 – $85.00 per hour
