Election Canvasser
Job Description
Conduct door-to-door outreach: Visit assigned neighborhoods or voter lists to meet with residents, deliver campaign messaging, and engage in conversations about issues, candidates, or registration.
Promote voter registration & turnout: Educate citizens about registration rules, early voting, absentee ballots, and polling locations.
Persuade and inform: Use provided scripts, talking points, and data to engage with undecided or infrequent voters and encourage their participation.
Collect data & report: Record responses, update canvas sheets or mobile apps in real time, track outcomes (support, undecided, refusal, etc.).
Follow compliance & safety protocols: Adhere to legal, ethical, and campaign guidelines regarding political speech, privacy, and conduct.
Attend training & meetings: Participate in orientation, daily briefings, debriefs, and campaign strategy sessions.
Coordinate with team: Work with field leads, organizers, and volunteers to meet targets, adjust plans, and optimize canvassing routes.

Job Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage strangers in respectful, meaningful conversation.

Ability to follow scripts, instructions, and campaign protocols.

Comfortable walking for extended periods and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Reliable transportation or means to travel between canvass are
-
Basic familiarity with mobile devices or canvassing software (tablet, smartphone) preferred.

Self-motivated, organized, and able to follow a route efficiently.

Team-oriented, with the ability to take feedback and coordinate with other staff.

Bilingual (English/Spanish or other relevant language) is a plus.

Pay Range: $16.50-$85.00
