Job Description

  • Applying stains, varnishes, and other finishes to wooden furniture to enhance its appearance and durability
  • Working with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and plastic
  • Using specialized tools and techniques to achieve a high-quality finish
  • Examining and disassembling furniture to determine the extent of damage or deterioration and the best method for repair or restoration
  • Shaping, finishing, and refinishing damaged and worn furniture 

Job Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Benefit from a vocational or apprenticeship program
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Be able to stay organized
  • Have good eyesight
  • Be able to use both manual and power tools
  • Complete an apprenticeship and gain a National Certificate in Furniture Finishing (Level 4) through Competenz
  • Taking a course on Furniture design and manufacturing or a related field is an advantage for this occupation

Additional Information

Pay rate: $18.00/Hour +

Pay range: $16.50-$85 (We are required by law to list highest paid employee)
