Job Description

  • Accurately match and produce finishing specifications and samples.
  • Surface Preparation: Prepare wood and metal surfaces for finishing by sanding, cleaning, and repairing imperfections.
  • Finish Application: Use brushes, sprayers, or other application tools to apply various finishes, such as paints, stains, varnishes, or lacquers, to wood and metal products.
  • Color Matching: Skillfully match and blend colors to achieve desired finishes, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards, including proper adhesion, smoothness, and color accuracy.
  • Material Knowledge: Understand different types of wood, metals, and finishes to select appropriate materials and techniques for specific projects.
  • Hand Tool and Equipment Operation: Utilize hand tools, power tools, and finishing equipment to achieve desired textures, sheens, and appearances.
  • Repair Work: To maintain product integrity, perform touch-ups or repairs on damaged or imperfect finishes.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety guidelines and use protective equipment when working with finishing materials and chemicals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including woodworkers, metal fabricators, and designers, to achieve cohesive and high-quality finished products.
  • Documentation: Maintain records of finishing materials, techniques, and any deviations from standard procedures.
