Job Description
- Preparing food: Following recipes to prepare large batches of food
- Measuring ingredients: Weighing and measuring ingredients to ensure they match the recipe's requirements
- Monitoring production: Monitoring equipment gauges and controls, and adjusting cooking temperatures
- Quality assurance: Testing the quality of the food batches and ensuring consistent portion sizes
- Cleaning: Cleaning and sanitizing food preparation and storage areas
- Reporting: Reporting any leaks or machine defects to management
- Communicating: Communicating any changes in production workflow to colleagues and management
- Recording data: Recording production and test data for each batch, such as the ingredients used, temperature, and test results
- Safety: Following safety protocols and procedures, and knowing what personal protective equipment is required
Job Requirements
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is usually required.
- Experience: Some employers may prefer at least two years of experience as a food batchmaker.
- Certifications: Up-to-date food safety certifications are often preferred.
- Communication: Food batchmakers need to be able to communicate well with colleagues, line managers, and other staff.
- Physical activity: Food batchmakers need to be comfortable standing, bending, and walking for long periods of time.
- Attention to detail: Food batchmakers need to pay close attention to detail when handling large equipment.
- Math skills: Food batchmakers need to be able to use arithmetic to interpret recipe measurements.
- Knowledge of production processes: Food batchmakers need to know how to blend raw materials into finished products based on written instructions and processes.
- Hygiene practices: Food batchmakers need to follow strict hygiene practices and adhere to food safety regulations.
Additional Information
Pay rate: $17.00/Hour +
Pay range: $16.50-$85 (We are required by law to list highest paid employee)
