Job Description

 

  • Operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and equipment safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
  • Interpret load sheets, shipping orders, and warehouse documentation to determine movement and storage requirements.
  • Perform equipment setup: Conduct daily pre-operation inspections, refuel or charge batteries, and ensure forks, lift mechanisms, and safety features are in proper working order.
  • Load and unload materials: Handle incoming and outgoing shipments by moving pallets, crates, and containers to designated storage or staging areas.
  • Inventory handling: Scan and label materials, confirm counts, and ensure accuracy of incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Storage and organization: Stack and arrange materials following safety and space optimization guidelines.
  • Safety compliance: Follow OSHA regulations and company safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a hazard-free environment.
  • Documentation: Complete logs and reports detailing movement, damages, or discrepancies in shipments or storage.
  • Team collaboration: Communicate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and logistics personnel to coordinate workflow and resolve issues.

 

Job Requirements

  • Technical skills: Proficiency operating sit-down, stand-up, or reach forklifts and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
  • Licensing: Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to identify load stability issues and resolve equipment concerns quickly.
  • Math proficiency: Basic counting, inventory verification, and measurement skills.
  • Attention to detail: High accuracy in material handling, labeling, and inventory movement.
  • Team player: Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: Prior experience in warehouse or logistics environments preferred.

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time
Expected Hours: 40 – 50 hours per week
Pay Range: $16.50 – $85.00 per hour
