Job Summary:

• The Grinder will work with the grinding crew on 2nd shift to condition forged bars and blocks.
• At times will be pulled into forge to assist crew.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

•  None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

•  Must be able to follow lead and directions from grinding lead to grind material.
•  Must be able to read serial numbers and re-mark parts with the correct serialization during the grinding process.
•  Must be able to drive forklift to move and transport material, will be trained as necessary.
•  Must be able to read calipers and other measuring equipment to determine forged size of material, will be trained as necessary.
•  Must be able to train to learn to grind with 12”, 16”, 24” swing grinders as well as smaller hand grinders
•  Performs other related duties as requested.

Required Skills/Abilities:

•  Basic (9th grade) math, language, and reading skills.
•  Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.

Education and Experience:

•  Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license.
•  Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.

Physical Requirements:

•  Ability to maintain single-task focus and situational awareness.
•  Must be able to move and lift up to 50-pound of both parts and material.
•  Must be able to be on their feet for the majority of working hours.
