The Powder Coating Technician is responsible for applying powder coating to metal parts and components using electrostatic spray equipment. This job requires a strong understanding of the powder coating process, quality control measures, and safety procedures to ensure high-quality finishes. The technician will work in a manufacturing or automotive setting and may also be tasked with prepping parts for coating, curing, and post-coating inspection.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Parts: Clean, prepare, and mask parts for powder coating. This includes sandblasting, cleaning, and ensuring all parts are free of contaminants.

• Powder Coating Application: Use electrostatic spray guns to apply powder coating evenly onto parts and components. Ensure the proper thickness and consistency of the coating.

• Curing: Load parts into an oven for curing at specific temperatures to ensure that the powder coating adheres properly and hardens to a durable finish.

• Quality Control: Inspect coated parts for uniformity, consistency, and defects. Perform touch-ups when needed and ensure the final product meets customer or company standards.

• Maintenance: Clean and maintain powder coating equipment, including spray guns and ovens. Keep work areas clean and organized to ensure efficiency and safety.

• Understanding of powder coating materials, techniques, and processes.

• Ability to apply coatings uniformly and inspect for defects.

• Ability to troubleshoot and fix issues with equipment, materials, or coatings.

•  Knowledge of safety practices in handling chemicals, working with high temperatures, and using electrostatic equipment.

•  Ability to lift, move, and handle parts of varying weights and sizes.

•  Previous experience in powder coating or a similar finishing process is often preferred

• 18 years or older

• Minimum of 3 years experience
