Tree Lot Helper

Job Description

  • Assist customers with selecting and securing Christmas trees or seasonal greenery on a retail tree lot.
  • Provide excellent customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, and offer guidance on tree types, sizes, and care.
  • Tree preparation: Trim branches, cut tree bases, and wrap trees using mechanical netting equipment.
  • Lot maintenance: Keep the lot clean, organized, and safe by clearing debris, watering trees, and restocking inventory.
  • Manual labor: Load and unload trees from delivery trucks and assist with setting up displays.
  • Safety compliance: Follow safety procedures when handling sharp tools, lifting trees, and assisting customers.
  • Payment support: Assist cashiers or operate point-of-sale equipment as needed during busy times.
  • Team collaboration: Work with team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth and enjoyable customer experience.

 

Job Requirements

  • Physical stamina: Able to lift, carry, and move trees weighing up to 75 lbs throughout the day.
  • Customer service: Friendly, approachable, and helpful attitude with customers of all ages.
  • Work ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Safety awareness: Basic understanding of safe lifting techniques and tool use.
  • Team player: Willingness to help where needed and communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Experience: Previous retail, landscaping, or outdoor labor experience preferred but not required.

Additional Information

Job Type: Full-time / Seasonal
Expected Hours: 30 – 50 hours per week (including weekends and evenings)
Pay Range: $16.50 – $85.00 per hour
