Job Description
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine proper fusion and welding procedures.
- Prepare materials by measuring, cutting, cleaning, and aligning metal or plastic components before welding.
- Operate fusion welding equipment and welding machines, including MIG, TIG, and Arc welders, following established safety procedures.
- Perform butt fusion, electrofusion, and other pipe joining methods as required.
- Inspect completed welds and fusion joints to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Conduct quality checks using visual inspections and, when required, pressure testing, leak testing, or non-destructive testing methods.
- Maintain welding equipment and keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project requirements.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and crew members to complete projects on schedule.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience as a Fusion Welder or Welder.
- Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of fusion welding techniques and welding equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to accurately measure materials using tape measures, rulers, and other measuring tools.
- Basic math skills for measurements, layouts, and calculations.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions throughout the day.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Fusion or welding certifications are a plus but not required.
Additional Information
Pay Range: $16.90-$85.00
